At the Cottage Jake Layout

My project today is a layout I made for my nephew's scrapbook. I created the background with a The Crafter's Workshop stencil and distress ink. I turned the stencil a little bit to create the tie dye look like his t-shirt. The yellow cardstock is by Bazzill. The title, which in retrospect is hard to see is made with a Stampin Up alphabet. I stamped the letters with Hero Arts green ink and then fussy cut them out. Then the peace signs are glittery stickers by Jolee's/EK Success. Under the two right side photos is an old 2008 sticker and it too is hard to see. Ugh!

Have a great weekend.

Smiley Flower Cards

I started making this card by background stamping the Hero Arts stamp with pink Colorbox pigment ink. After it dried, I inked the edges with distress ink and added a piece of pink cardstock to the center.

The flower in the center is a Stampin Up stamp that I colored in with distress markers before fussy cutting it out. I layered the stamped flower on top of an Imaginisce flower and then to a The Paper Studio flower. The fancy die cut in white cardstock is by Lifestyle Crafts. I then stamped the sentiment by Fiskars with Ranger purple ink.

This card uses the same stamp that I colored with Copic Markers. I layered the stamp onto two Creative Memories paper flowers. The patterned paper is unknown and I think the border is a Cricut cut.

Dog Sympathy Card Updated

I have a pet sympathy card today. I used a Gina Marie dog stamp that I inked it with Clearsnap pigment ink with a lighter color all over and a darker color around the edges. I matted the image with orange cardstock by Bazzill. The sentiment is from the internet that I inked the edges with the same ink as the dog. The bone is a Cricut cut from the Cricut Sampler. I think the background paper is by The Paper Studio but I'm not positive.

Have a great day and thanks for looking.

Park City Anniversary Card

This bottle cap came from my cousin in Utah and Park City is where she got engaged. So I'm usin g this cap for their anniversary card.

The card base is a kraft pre-made Recollections card. I find I end up with a lot of 2" by 6" strips of patterned paper because I sometimes use the 6x6 paper pads. This card utilizes two of these scraps. I adhered the Pink Paislee patterned paper strips to each side of the card base and covered the seam with a Mrs. Grossman's sticker. I used a border punch by EK Success on the right side edge and then the doily is by Doodlebug Designs.

Be U and Only U! ATC's

The ATC theme for these cards was unicorns. Oddly enough some Cricut cartridges I have brought me a couple of options. I cut it out with pink cardstock for the shade and the polka dot paper for the top.

The background cardstock is by Paper Reflections and I've dry embossed it with a Stampin Up folder. I inked the raised portion with distress ink and outlined each leaf with a white Sharpie. The pink patterned paper is by Stampin Up and the white jean paper is by Recollections. I did stamp the bottom with a Deep Red Stamps border stamp called Vintage Lace borders. It's the middle border on the package and it's only the side with the lines.

I did ripe the edges of the patterned paper on these cards so they didn't look so sweet and innocent. And this is why:

"I tend to obsess over what everyone else is doing to create their ATC's instead of doing my own thing and being proud of what I made. I made these as a reminder to be the unicorn. To Do what I feel like doing. To not worry that I didn't do enough techniques on the card to make it worthy of trading. There is nothing wrong with being unique and not following the trend.

Lately I've been putting on my "I don't give a s__t shoes". They make me feel like more like myself and teach me not to obsess about what will people think of my hair, my outfit or how fat my body looks. Everyone is looking at their phone and not looking at me anyway. So if I walk by a mirror and my hair is doing its own thing, I just say "I don't give a s__t".
That was my inspiration for making these unicorn themed cards."

I used the Quickutz tool and old alphabet dies for the bold black words and a couple have a Creative Imaginations sticker (be). The other stuff I wrote with a black marker. I did ink the edges with black distress ink and gave two unicorns a black dot for the eye and the other two with the white Sharpie.

Manly Monday Hubby's Beer Card

I really like the way this card came together. The gold patterned paper background is the back of a photo Christmas card. So yea, I chopped up someone's little kid picture. I'm recycling which will benefit that kid so it's all good. Right?

The Miller Lite cap was flattened and then adhered to a white circle punch and then a blue Design Objectives die. The gold string is by Martha Stewart. Pretty simple but in real life took me forever to put together. Story of my life-nothing is of a short duration.

Flowery Birthday Girl Card

I'm so very behind on everything.
I'm not sure where my days go.
I'm not sure why everything takes so long.
I'm not sure where the easy button is.

I do know this, my blog is being neglected.
I need to work on better time management.

Oh well...
For my card today,
I stamped a Stampin Up flower stamp with Colorbox ink and let the ink dry before cutting it out with the matching die. I layered the flower on top of a Imaginisce flower and onto a flower like die cut. The die cut is from the Cricut cartridge Elegant Edges cut out with paper by Sunborn and Bazzill. The brad in the center of the layered flowers is by We R Memory Keepers. The left side patterned paper is unknown but the birthday girl patterned paper is by Jillibean Soup.

A Toast 2 U! Bottle Cap Card

Today my card uses a Coors Light bottle cap. I had my husband flatten it before I adhered it to a black cardstock circle. I then matted a Coredinations cardstock circle behind it and a Gina Marie circle die cut behind that. I made the sentiment with a Lawn Fawn alphabet set and black ink. The patterned paper is by K and Co and the black and white cardstock by Recollections.

Thanks for being patient with me and things will get better. Hopefully.

You Did It! Card

I have a plain and simple card to share today. I may use it as a graduation card but we'll see. The background paper is by Recollections and the cardstock from my stash. The frame stamp is by Inkadinkado and the sentiment by Hero Arts. The ink used is an old one by Stampin Up. The border punch is by Fiskars.

Fruity ATC cards

My cards today were for the ATC swap. theme: the color orange, primary orange. The tangerine chipboard is a clothing tag that I cut off the edges with corner decorative scissors and inked the edges orange. The background is a Stampin Up canvas background stamp. I stamped it onto orange cardstock with white Studio Calico paint. I inked the edges orange.

The yellow cardstock on the right side is by Paper Reflections.I sprayed the cardstock with orange Smooches spray by Clear Snap. Once it dried, I stamped a Hero Arts tropical leaves stamp on top using Tsukineko green ink, which I think is called bamboo leaves. It's faint but I like that. Then I randomly cut the edge off to keep the orange in site.

I cut up these Hawaiian menus that Grandma had saved from their cruise in 1985 to get all the little words. (Oh yes, she still had them) I adhered the words to the tag and outlined them with,a white Sharpie marker. The fruit stickers are by American Crafts/Amy Tangerine, the pineapple brads by Eyelet Outlet and the rhinestones from my stash.

The only difference between this second one and the rest is, I added some Spellbinders dies above the tag. It may have been to cover up a mistake. It was also stamped with the leaves stamp.

Up-Cycled Cards

Buttercream Flower card

My cards have been rather on the flowery side in the last month. This flower stamp is by Stampin Up and I stamped it with Memento ink and colored it in with Copic markers. I cut it out and adhered it to a circle die. That die and the scallop edge die are by Stampendous. The patterned paper on top is by Stampin Up and the bottom is by Basic Grey. The seam is covered by a piece of brown ribbon and a piece of vintage ribbon over that.

Container Cards

I made these for an April ATC Swap for the theme: containers. I inked watercolor paper by Strathmore with blue, pink and green distress inks and sprayed them with water before setting them aside to dry.

I went to the recycle basket upstairs and looked for the different words that were describing containers; cabinets, carrier, box, bags, can, jar and even a safe. I cut them up and glued them on with Mod Podge.

The mason jar is a Jolee's sticker. In the past, I've opened the jar from the back with a razor blade and filled the jar with beads. HERE is an example of doing just that. But for some reason I wasn't able to do that this time. Instead I cut the back off the sticker and replaced it with white cardstock. I adhered the cardstock to the card base. I put down a glop of Glossy Accents and beads on top of it before I adhered the jar on top.

I thought the cards needed something more so I put more Mod Podge on the card and added these tiny beads. I drew lines and patterns around the edges with blue and pink CM markers. I added the Forever in Time glitter tape to the bottom and inked the edges with black distress ink.

Manly Monday Vintage Delivery Truck

The Vintage Delivery Truck stamp is by Deep Red Stamps. I stamped it with white paint onto brown cardstock.
I die cut two stitched rectangles. The truck image with a small die and then die-cut the next larger rectangle out of October Afternoon graph patterned paper.
I inked the edges of the dies.

The card base is pre-made kraft cardstock made by Recollections.

The background is off-white cardstock that has been embossed with a Darice clock folder and then heavily inked with distress ink.

I then added washi tape by We are Memory Keepers to the panel before adhering it to the center of the card.
