Bless You and Keep You

In today's card I used patterned paper by Colorbok and cardstock by Recollections as well as Creative Memories. The flower bouquet is an embellishment by Mrs. Grossman's that came together as you see it. The die cuts are by Spellbinders and the lighter one has been inked by Ranger's distress ink. The sentiment on the inside is vellum and it's by Quick Quotes.

70th Birthday Card

My card today was made for my Mom's birthday. The patterned paper is by K and Co and the brown cardstock is by Cordinations. I die cut the brown cardstock with a Spellbinders border die and then inked it with distress ink. The ribbon in the middle is by The Paper Studio. The scalloped circles are Spellbinder's dies and I stamped the 70 (SU) and the TH (Lawn Fawn) with brown SU ink. The birthday sticker is by American Crafts.

Here are three Christmas tree cards I didn't get to posting before Christmas. The tree stamps are by Inkadinkado and My Stamp Box.

Happy Holidays Teddy Bear Card

The teddy bear stamp on my card today is by PSX. Not much of this card is mine but rather the lady I received the Christmas stamps from. I adhered the bear on the red paper crooked and added the holly punch to the corner to cover a blemish. The patterned paper in the background is by Anna Griffin. The sentiment has been gold heat embossed.

Manly Monday Rock Star Card

Manly Monday card today is possible for a male teen. This is another one that I changed from a Father's Day card to a birthday card. The original post can be found
I changed the circle into a strip of red cardstock that was stamped with Fiskar stamps using black ink. When I tore off the circle part of the green ripped off but only a little bit on the edge.

Then the inside of the card I covered up the Father's Day sentiment with the red cardstock stamped with the same stars as in front. The white oval is stamped with a Hero Arts stamp.

Gentle Peace Christmas card

I made today's card with the ladies at church. There are many variations available online featuring this stamp set. I was overwhelmed and also amazed at the cards these ladies are making. Blew me away. This is what I thought was best for our group. The ladies don't like to color but I think the beauty of the image softened them up a bit. You have to color this one There's no getting around that.

This card is a 5 x 6.5.The brown background cardstock was dry embossed with a Fiskars plate and then inked with distress ink. The image is heat embossed in silver (Hero Arts powder) on a piece of off white paper which happens to be the end of a checkbook paper. The image was colored with colored pencils.

Snow Christmas cards

2 snowy Christmas cards today.
On this first card, I stamped the square stamp, which is all one big stamp, with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder before cutting it into a square. I used American Crafts white cardstock and next time I should use smooth cardstock in order to get a clean and crisp stamped image. Oh well. Lesson learned. Moving on, the glitter tape that is behind the image and runs down the center is by Recollections. The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts.

The bulb in this card was colored by the lady in which I received a bunch of Christmas stamps. I used the Stampin Up mosaic punch to relieve me from fussy cutting it out. Plus, I'm using old supplies. The circles and the wreath are cut out by my Cricut and with edges inked. I set a brad at the top of the wreath. The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp.

These are kind of crappy pictures. I still haven't been able to master photography of cards without sunlight. It's hard to tell but the patterned paper is the exact same for both cards. Ugh!

Peace on Earth

Today's card was pieced together with a bunch of leftovers and a few trials. I tried to do the gold pigment ink on a Darice embossing folder and had shitty results but I couldn't throw it away. The holly was my attempt to stamp with Stampin Up ink (Safari Sand or something like that) on this natural colored paper that wasn't Copic friendly and color with Copics. The peace die cut was on my desk and the on earth stamp is silver heat embossed onto vellum.

Christmas Candles Cards

This post might be an overload but I thought it was too repetitious to do in single posts. All of the cards use a candle stamp that I heat embossed with some different embossing powders. The stamp itself is not square shape which threw me off so I hand cut the image out on each one.

The first one I used a gold matte embossing powder and colored the candles in with distress markers. It would have worked better had I used watercolor paper. Lesson learned-maybe. The holly paper is by Anna Griffin and the red is unknown. The sentiment is also unknown but the ampere is a Quickutz die out of gold paper.

This next one is embossed with a glitter gold by Stampendous. It's not my favorite because I can't seem to get the whole image with a consistent glitter to powder ratio. I think it's me because another card maker loves the glitter embossing powders. The background and green paper is by Making Memories and the die cut is by Sizzix/Tim Holtz.

I tried the glitter embossing again and still don't care for it. The sentiment stamp is from the same unknown stamp set from above. The red cardstock is sprayed with Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels.

Then I went way out there and tried a different color combo. Silver embossing (Hero Arts) with Faber-Castell colored pencils to color in the candles. Background paper and ribbon by Stampin Up. I'm not sure about the strip of paper in the center but the oval behind the image (which I cut in half to show it on the top and the bottom and is not centered) is cardstock by Coredinations. The oval was a negative of a Cricut cut.

That's all for now. Thanks for looking.

Manly Monday Tools Card

Today's Manly Monday card is also a repurposed Father's day card made into a birthday card.

The tool stamps are by Hero Arts that I stamped onto Cryogen paper with Memento black ink and colored in with Copic markers. I cut the stamped strip down and backed it with black cardstock (Recollections). I removed the Father's Day sentiment on the card and replaced it with the red paper by CGull that I stamped the sentiment by Hero Arts and the stars by Fiskar with black ink with Hero Arts black ink

On the inside of the card, I covered the sentiment with a circle and stamped the stars and the greeting.

Foiled Poinsettias Stamp Merry Christmas Card

My card today uses a foil technique I learned over at Jennifer McGuire's site using the laminator with Versa Mark ink. I fussy cut it out and matted a Spellbinders die behind it. The red paper is by Craft Smith with the Stampin Up die cut Merry and the Christmas stamp by Hero Arts.

Oh Christmas Tree Glitter heat embossing Card

I keep trying to do the glitter embossing powder and never seem happy with the results. This is another one. The tree stamp is by Inkadinkado. The green paper mat is by Provo Craft and the off-white patterned paper is by Anna Griffin. The bright green is unknown.

Christmas Card using Wheel rolling stamp of Presents

As I look at the cards I post, I'm inclined to be drawn to simple card designs. This one I feel is a simple card design however there's a lot going on to distract from that design.

The present stamp is an old one by Stampin Up. It's not even a Christmas set. I stamped them with black Hero Arts ink and colored them in with powdered chalk. The die-cut behind the image is a Spellbinder's die. The green paper polka dots are glittery and the paper is by Doodlebug Designs. The red paper is dry embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.

Have a great day and thanks for looking.

Large Green Ornament Happy Holidays Card

I really like this card. It was another one of those images that were done and matted when I received it from that old lady I always talk about. I added the third layer of green behind the silver paper. The patterned paper is by October Afternoon. I stamped the Plaid sentiment with Memento Ink and added it to the bottom.

Merry Christmas Santa Card

The Santa is a stamp that was done completely by a woman that I don't know. I was given this huge lot of Christmas stamps and some papers with embellishments. Inside the totes were these images already stamped, colored, decorated, and cut out. Some of them are amazing to me that she cut the figures out in the tiniest of places. I always want to make sure to state that these are her images. The beard and the fuzzy parts of his suit are puffy and cool to look at.

The side patterned paper is by My Mind's Eye that I border punched with an EK Success punch. The red paper is by K and Co. The circle die cut is by Spellbinders out of Recollections cardstock. I inked the inside and sprayed it with Perfect Pearls mixed with water. The red circle is a punch and I set an Around the Block brad inside.

Wonderful Time of the Year Card

In my card today, I inked the Inadinkado rectangle stamp with different colors of Colorbox ink.
The cat-eye shape of the ink pad makes it easy to fit inside the frame of the stamp.

The die-cut behind it is a Spellbinders die.
The green cardstock (Coredinations) is dry embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.

The red paper in the middle is glitter paper by Recollections.

Manly Monday Gears Birthday card

Upcycled dude card. See below.
There's black cardstock as the bottom layer with a grey cardstock (Sunborn) on the left.

The striped patterned paper is by Basic Grey.

The sentiment stamp by TPC Studio is on a Spellbinders die cut. Underneath that is a Cricut cut from Art Philosophy that was inked with distress ink.

The aqua circle cardstock (Bo Bunny) is stamped with a Stampin Up clock stamp with Hero Arts Charcoal ink.

The gray circle is stamped with a Unity Stamp Co gear stamp with black Hero Arts ink. The grey circle was inked with distress ink and layered onto a black circle.

The inside circle was cut with the Cricut and Art Philosophy with paper by Sunborn.
The sentiment is by My Stamp Box on Stampin Up gray speck cardstock with Hero Arts black ink.

I needed masculine birthday cards.
And for whatever reason, I had a huge amount of Father's Day cards in my stash.
I decided that they needed to be converted into birthday cards.

Doing so I had to change the inside sentiment which required some dies to cover up the previous sentiment. I included pictures of the inside of the card to show what I did.
This is one of the cards I repurposed.

Be Merry with Spellbinders Dahlia Border Christmas Card

Today's Christmas card uses up some odds and ends on my table. The left side border is made of the Dahlia Spellbinders die out of different cardstocks and a few patterned papers. I just layered them on top of each other before adding some punches. The top and bottom Christmas trees are by unknown punches and the center tree is a stamp by Clear Dollar Stamps (I think is out of business other than digital stamps).

I stamped the tree with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I punched it out with a circle punch (Marvy) and inked it with distress ink. I then sprayed the circle with water mixed with Perfect Pearls.

The sentiment is a stamp by Imaginisce with red SU ink. I inked the edges and matted it onto a scrap of green patterned paper.

Noel, Reindeer and Joy Cricut Tag Cards

Today I have three similar cards to share. The tags are all cut out with my Cricut using the Very Merry Tags cartridge. I'm going to talk about the first two cards because they are so similar and then talk about the third card below.

These tags are cut out of a green Pink Paisley patterned paper with a Making Memories dark green cardstock. I adhered the tags together and tied a green (Offray) ribbon around the hole at the top. I took some scraps of the Recollections glitter paper and adhered it to a white card base. The larger ribbon and the die cut are unknown. People give me random things with no packaging to refer to. Sorry.

I die cut this tag out of Making Memories patterned paper on top as well as the bottom. I layered the tag on top of two Spellbinders dies. One of which was cut out of old packaging and the other out of Sunborn cardstock.

I had to set an eyelet on top before tying the ribbon around.

The background is white cardstock that I dry embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and inked with the spruce distress ink.. I added Perfect Pearls to the entire background to really make it sparkle. It's hard to tell in the photos but it does sparkle.

Thanks for looking and stopping by.

Santa Rocks Card

My Christmas card today uses a Santa stamp by Holly Berry House. It was stamped, colored in and cut to shape by the person I got the stamps from. I get things from people that are getting out of it and this was one of those cases.

The background paper is by Basic Grey. The circles are Creative Memories punches. The red one I inked with distress ink and sprayed with Perfect Pearls and water to make it shimmer. I set an Around the Block sentiment brad to the center of the circle before adhering the front panel to a Recollections pre-made card base.

3 in a Row Christmas Joy Card

I have another new Christmas card to share today. This one is quite busy and after making it I decided that less is more. Plus it took me far too long to create this card than others.

The background is white cardstock that I dry embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. I added Perfect Pearls to the entire background to really make it sparkle. I stamped the Hero Arts sentiment onto white cardstock with green Memento Ink.

The three rectangle die cuts in the center are Spellbinders dies that I already had cut and stored in a pocket. So I mixed and matched different colors and patterns together. Here is another great way to use those small dies that come with the Spellbinders die sets.

The red circle in the center is a Marvy punch. The tree and ornament are unknown punches out of green Stampin Up cardstock. I adhered all the pieces as shown and then added a small iridescent star sequin type thingy to the top of the trees and the center of the ornament. You can see it best in the last photo.

Sketches In Thyme Project Life Family albums layout

Hello. It's my turn at the Sketches in Thyme Project Life blog (It ended in 2018 but the blog is still up for examples). It's great to get another LO in the books. For my card, I used patterned paper and letter stickers by Making Memories. A border-like stamp, ink, and circle punch by Stampin Up. The edges are outlined with an Autumn Leaves rub-on.

Here's the sketch:

Here's the full layout. Other than the card, I didn't do much but add some corners to a few boxes and labeling with Lawn Fawn stamps. I find that when I pile on a bunch of embellishments it looks too busy, in my opinion. I've seen these grown men look at their book and they are looking at the pictures and not the embellishments.

I'm going with the plain and simple route so I don't:
a.) Over obsess the little stuff that nobody is looking at
and
b.) Waste a ton of time doing letter-a.

Have a great day and thanks for looking.

Angel Season's Greetings Card

I have another simple Christmas card to share today. The patterned papers are by Stampin Up. The center die cut is by Spellbinders. The angel is a PSX stamp that I stamped in green ink by Memento onto Forever in Tim cardstock. The sentiment is a stamp by Hero Arts with the same ink.

Manly Monday Blue Shirt

Manly Monday card today with a birthday card. I started with a white card base and adhered red cardstock to it. The blue patterned paper (Provo Craft) was cut down smaller than the base and inked with blue distress ink before adhering to the front.

I die cut the pennants from the Cricut and layered the blue on top of the red. I took some grey ribbon and wrapped it around as shown just for something different before adhering it to the front. I stamped the shirt (Unity Stamp Co) onto Strathmore watercolor paper with Hero Arts black ink and again onto a scrap of grey patterned paper (Unknown). I colored inside the shirt with blue Peerless watercolors and the outside edges a red.

While that was drying, I fussy cut the shirt from the grey paper on the inside which would leave a hole for the blue shirt to shine through. I did take a black marker and touch up the edges on the inside of the grey paper. I adhered all of those together and found this sentiment that was already stamped in my pile.

Here's how I did the paper piecing.
