Deep Red Stamps Gratitude

Thanksgiving day and thought it would be fitting to share a thank you card. I made this one using a Deep Red Stamp called Flourish Latte that can be found at A Cherry on Top.

I heat embossed the image using a bridal color embossing powder. Then I inked the image with Ranger's distress ink and an ink blender. After I liked how it looked I sprayed the image with water mixed with Perfect Pearls also by Ranger.

The cardstock is by Hobby Lobby and the patterned paper is unknown. I used a K and Co sticker for the sentiment that is mounted on to more brown cardstock.

The ebmossing folder I used on the kraft cardstock is by Provo Craft /Cuttlebug. The kraft cardstock is by Oriental Trading Co.

Thanks for check ing out my card. Have a glorious Thanksgiving Day.

Deep Red Stamps Sweet Friend card

For my card today I used a stamp by Deep Red Stamps called Violet Chalk Flowers which can be found at A Cherry on Top. I heat embossed the stamp with white embossing powder and then colored it in with distress markers. I then inked the outside of the stamped image with distress ink and then sprayed the entire panel with water mixed with Perfect Pearls. Distress ink, distress markers and Perfect Pearls are all products from Ranger Industries.
The flower patterned paper is by Prima and the grid patterned paper is by Cosmo Cricket. The label die is by Spellbinders with sentiment stickers by K and Co and eyelets by.......I'm not sure. I guess it's not super important because everyone probably has a bunch of eyelets sitting around from when they were more "in".

Thanks for stopping by to take a look.

Blessings of the season

My card today features a bleach stamping technique. I tried it on a few different cardstocks but found my best image from Bazzill cardstock. The stamp is by Jest Rite and I die cut it out using a Spellbinders die. Then the pink middle oval was cut out using my Cricut and the Storybook cartridge. Then the final burgundy oval is the Spellbinders next size up scallop oval. I don't have the other size of scallop ovals so I improvised. The patterned paper is an old one from a DCWV Christmas Stack. The felt ribbon is by Oriental Trading Co, pearls by Want 2 Scrap and the die cuts are from a friend of mine. I saw her use them on her card and she was nice enough to punch some out and send them to me. I tell you this hobby generates some of the nicest people.
Thanks for looking

Turkey Day card for Chalk-A-Lot

I'm posting for the Chalk Ah Lot blog today and I made a new card to share using products from our sponsor Stamp N Plus. First up is the turkey stamp that I heat embossed it with a gold embossing powder and then colored it in with a combination of powdered chalks and paint. The two ingredients work fantastic together and is easy to apply to your image with a paint brush.

Next is the sentiment stamp is stamped onto a die cut that has been covered with powdered chalk and paint mixed together. Sometimes when I have left over mixes I use a larger paint brush to cover dies or just a section of paper that I can die cut later. I stamped the sentiment using a pigment dye to get a crisp stamp on the chalk. One nice things about Stamp N Plus powdered chalks is they don't need a fixative in to remain on your project. You can't wipe the chalk away like you've had to do with regular craft chalk.

The scallop circle is by K and Co (darker brown) and the smaller one is cut out using my Cricut. I don't always know what size shape I will need and this is one I didn't use for its intended project but was able to use for this one. The rest of the die cuts are by Spellbinders. I love that little leaf die cut for fall projects. The circle dies were inked with Distress ink while still in the wafer thin die. Then the card base is by The Paper Studio and that's what it's all about.

Did you get my card that it's "Wishing you a special turkey day"? Yeah a lot of people don't think I'm funny either but I still try. In retrospect, I should have cut the scallop die and moved the turkey closer to the words. Maybe even die cut the turkey off center. Live and learn I guess.

Here are a few links to the products I used:

Stamp N Plus Seasons Greetings

Happy Saturday. I hope it finds you well with many blessings surrounding you and comfort in your heart as these days are hard on each one of us for a multitude of reasons. Hopefully with the holidays around the corner you can find joy in family, friends and community events. It all starts next week with the sales and crazy shopping sprees but I hope you don't lose sight of what is truly the reason for the season.

With that said I have a holiday card to share. The sentiment stamp Season's Greetings and Winter Maple tree stamp are by Stamp N Plus. They have a large variety of stamps available for any type of crafting project. Stop by the Stamp N Plus Website for pages of fabulous stamps.

The window was cut out using my Cricut and the Christmas Noel cartridge which unfortunately is discontinued. But they have a couple of other window dies that I have my eyes on like THIS which is rounded and THIS one which is straight.

So I cut the back piece and stamped on it the tree stamp twice in green Memento Ink. I staggered them a little so I could add snow that looked like it was on hills. Next I inked the sky Broken China distress ink color with an ink blender. And finally I drew some hills with my Stickles and moved it to the side to dry.

The window frame was also white and I wanted to change it up a little bit. I used Brushed Corduroy distress ink again with an ink blender and made the frame really stand out by spraying it with water mixed with Perfect Pearls. The pictures just don't do them justice. I moved the frame to the drying area and continued on with the rest of my card. Distress inks, Stickles and Perfect earls are all products from Ranger Industries.

The patterned paper manufacturer is unknown for two reasons; first the background paper was a gift I won as a door prize at a crop and second the strip of paper the sentiment is on is from the Scrapbook Outlet and they get their paper from many different manufacturers. Neither piece of paper had a company name on the back.

The sentiment stamp is a beautiful font which I heat embossed with white embossing powder also by Stamp N Plus. HERE is a link to it. To the snowflake on my card  is a brad by Creative Imaginations.

Once the pieces of the window are dry I applied foam adhesive on the frame and adhered it to the background. I really love making this type of scene card, so be prepared for some more this holiday season.

If anyone has the dies I mentioned above or something similar and you want to do a small swap for some of these windows, I would be thrilled to trade with you. I will make the frames brown for you or keep them white-pick your fancy.
*I'm totally serious-email me at grohcm at gmail dot com so we can exchange contact information.*

As always, thank you for stopping by. Enjoy your weekend.

Deep Red Stamp Christmas Horn

I love this elegant Christmas horn stamp by Deep red stamps. You can purchase it at A Cherry on Top. Be sure to sign up for emails from ACOT because they have some awesome sales coming up for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. They also have a fabulous clearance section

This image is perfect to color in with gold distress stains by Ranger Industries. I stamped the image onto watercolor paper by Strathmore using Hero Arts black ink and other then the gold the other parts of the horn were colored in with distress markers. I like how in the second card I was able to do some shading but the photo isn't the best however the close up is pretty good to get an idea of how you can shade with distress markers.

The patterned papers and border sticker are by K an Co except in the first card the plaid paper is by Martha Stewart and in the second card the green patterned paper the sticker sentiment is on is by Pink Paislee.

For the image in the first card I fussy cut it out and then adhered it to two Spellbinders dies. The second card the image was colored and then die cut by the Label 4 Spellbinders die. The square punch for the SRM Sticker sentiment is by Creative Memories.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Kenny K Make a Wish

I have a bright and happy card to share today with the digital image by Kenny K. They are having an anything goes challenge on the blog and I'd like to enter this young lady. Here is a link to the blog http://kennykskraftykrew.blogspot.co.uk/.

I printed the digi out on Cryogen cardstock and colored her with Copic Markers (see below). Then I die cut her out using a Spellbinders die cut. Because she is sitting I wanted to put something underneath her tush. I punched out a square using a Creative Memories punch of Coredinations paper. I carefully cut around her bottom, hand and leg to place the box in the appropriate spot.

The patterned paper I used for the background paper is by Bella Blvd and the pink cardstock strip in the middle is by Creative Memories. I used Mrs Grossman's vellum border stickers to cover the seam of the two papers. Then I decorated the rest of the card with flowers by Creative Memories and Making Memories. The peace sign sticker is by Jolee's and the small epoxy flower stickers by Sticko which are both from the company EK Success. The rhinestones are by Imaginisce using the IRock tool to adhere them to the center of the flowers. The sentiment stamp is by TPC Studio and the ink by Stampin Up.

Thanks for looking.

Deep Red Stamps Peace on Earth

Oh how I wish there was Peace on Earth - Let love conquer all. is what I say.  With that I do love these Deep Red Stamps. They are fabulous to stamp with and have such a variety of stamped images to choose from. I know that I recently did a holly card but I couldn't resist doing another. You can find this stamp and many others by Deep Red at A Cherry on Top .

For my card I stamped the image with Versa Color ink onto Neenah solar white cardstock. I applied clear embossing powder from Stamp N Plus and heat set the image. I think its so cool to use colored ink with clear embossing powder. It looks like you have a ton of different embossing powders when really you don't.

Then I inked the edges with distress ink and an ink blender both by Ranger and then matted the image onto patterned paper by Hot off the Press and then another patterned paper by DCWV. The background paper is also be DCWV (I think), the border on the right side is by K and Co and then the sentiment sticker is by Karen Foster. Super easy card with fabulous results.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Stampin' Up Thank you card

I finally used one of my new stamp sets from Stampin Up. I used a masking technique to create the blank space in the middle with masking paper by Inkadinkado however you could use a Post It or the new thing I see on videos in Post It Tape. So after I stamped all the different circles I added a piece of ribbon from Michael's dollar bin to the center of it. The circle center is made from patterned paper by Making Memories and the tan colored paper is by Color Aid. The leaf is held oto the card with Glossy Accents. The banner die and stamp are by Stampin Up.

Manly Monday

Welcome back to Manly Monday. Check out the guy cards I found this week and then scroll down to see mine. It's getting tough to find regular cards with all the Christmas card challenge themes going on. If you've made a masculine card and would like it posted on Manly Monday, send me an email which is listed in the right column. Thanks.

I found this embossing folder at our LSS and wasn't sure how I would use it but I would find away. I embossed a piece of Neenah Solar white cardstock and then cut the bottom of the design off to do something more with it. Using a blending tool and distress ink from Ranger Industries I was able to turn the white cardstock brown in certain areas and over the raised ares. I trimmed up the word Camping, distressed the edges with scissors and matted it onto brown cardstock. Other supplies in my card: Jute from my stash, the tent brad is by Eyelet Outlet and the background paper is by The Paper Loft.

Thanks for looking.

The image is colored in with Copic markers, cut out in a circle using Creative Memories Cutting System and then mounted on a blue Spellbinder's circle die.

The white pennant is cut out using my Cricut with big eyelets from my stash. The sentiment is a stamp from Cloud 9 stamped onto Neenah cardstock with red ink from Stampin Up and matted onto Stampin Up red cardstock. The flame and stars are stickers from Sticko.
