Warm Thoughts

Hi to all. Sorry about no post on Tuesday. I'm having a hard time adjusting to the work week with Monday off. I'm totally not complaining about having Monday off :)

For today's card I started with a hot air balloon stamp by Unity Stamp Co. I inked the stamp in two colors by Stampin Up. Then I die cut the image using a Spellbinders die and inked the edges with Ranger distress ink. The background embossing folder is by Darice and I also inked it with the same color as the die cut. The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts with cardstock by Bazzill and Recollections. The rhinestones are by Want 2 Scrap.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Father's Day

I have a CAS Father's Day card to share today on the Stamp N Plus blog. I love this sentiment stamp by Stamp N Plus. See below all the sentiments that come with the one I used and the number you can call to order your own set. It is the perfect font. I used Stampin Up ink for the stamp and the edges around the sentiment. The patterned papers are by DCWV and cardstock by Creative Memories. The buttons are from my stash but the cording is by Darice.

That's it. Very simple.

I hope you are having a great weekend.

You make my Heart Happy

I love this sentiment stamp by Hero Arts. It is stamped with Hero Arts black ink on a Spellbinders die cut with Making Memories eyelets. The heart die cuts are from my Cricut (not sure which cartridge but if I had to guess I would say Creative Memories Holiday Frames and Tags). The cardstock used in this card is by Recollections and DCWV. Patterned paper is by K and i Memories and the flower sticker is by K and Co.

For the background paper I stamped the flowers (by Close to my Heart) and then took a distress ink pad (by Ranger) and smeared it over the entire piece. Some spots I went over it twice to saturate the paper more giving it a darker appearance. I have fun experimenting with my supplies and finding new ways to use them. What new way to use your stash have you discovered lately?

Happy Friday to everyone!! So happy the work week is done. Happy Memorial day to my friends in the states. Monday off is a great way to start the summer off right. Yahoo!!

A Special Day

I made this card for my step mom for Mother's Day. It has a few different techniques to it. The circle is watercolor paper by Strathmore that I heat embossed with clear embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. The circle is cut from my Creative Memories cutting system and the ink for the stamp is Versa Mark. After it was embossed, I covered the paper with Ranger gold metallic distress stain. Because the distress products react with water I sprayed the circle with a mist of water and wiped off the area around the stamped image to reveal its embossing. That stamp is by Inkadinkado. I stamped a flower stamp by Hero Arts (very old) using Hero Arts black ink (love that ink). The flower needed a center, so I took some yellow and white beads by Queen and Co with some Glossy Accents by Ranger and made a clump. To finish up the card patterned paper was added along with a tag by Colorbok. The patterned paper has a decorative edge from using a Martha Stewart punch on it.

Thanks for looking.

Here are some masculine cards I found this week. I hope you enjoy them and will leave them some love on their blogs.

Beer card

Here's my Manly Monday card today. I used a background stamp by Hero Arts using Ranger's Distress ink with the stamp and around the edges of the background and the sentiment as well. For the sentiment I sprayed the paper with water to give it a watercolor effect with the ink. The sentiment is printed from my computer. The cardstock for the background is kraft by Oriental Trading Co.
The green cardstock is by Creative Memories and DCWV. The airplane stamp is by Prickely Pear stamped on white Recollections cardstock and cut out by hand.
Thanks so much for stopping by. If you see a manly card that you think would be a good fit for my weekly Manly Monday post email me at grohcm at gmail dot com.

Chalk Ah Lot card

There's a new challenge at Chalk Ah Lot, graduation with chalk.

For my card I dry embossed the black paper, which happens to be packaging from the embossing folder,  with an embossing folder by Darice. Then I smeered the background with metallic powdered chalk, Glitzy, sprayed it with water and then used the heat gun to dry it. It has such a great sparkle to it with a textured looking finish.
The sentiment for my card are stickers by Sticko/EK Success. The large die cut and circle are cut out using my Cricut and the small shaped die cut is by Spellbinders. The owl stamp is by our sponsor Stamp N Plus and can be found HERE (M970). It's the perfect accent for a graduation card.

Wonderful card

CAS card today which could be a birthday, Mother's Day or thank you card. The sentiment stamp is from the dollar bin at Michael's. Yes I'm that sucker that looks and buys the stamps (& other stuff) while waiting in line.
I stamped the sentiment and flowers with Colorbox cat eyes ink. For the flowers I started with the yellow in the center and then progressively added darker colors until I reached the outside of the flower stamp. The flower and leaf stamps are by Stampin Up (maybe? Not positive) The border is made from cardstock by Provo Craft and the die is by Spellbinders. I was able to emboss the border after cutting it. Love that about Spellbinders dies.

That's all I got for you today. Thanks for stopping by and for all your awesome comments. I love to read them.

Happy Friday!! The weekend is here and I'm a happy crafter!!

Gingerbread Man Christmas Cards

Hello everyone! It's the middle of the month and I wanted to send out a reminder that Christmas Cards all Year Round's challenge is Gingerbread people, three buttons and ribbon. I have some great mid month cards to show you.

First up we have a fun gingerbread man stamp by Stamp N Plus. I stamped him on watercolor paper and colored him in using distress markers and a water pen. The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts, die cuts by Spellbinders and the rest is miscellaneous from my stash.

Next I used patterned paper by October Afternoon. I liked the opposite side of the gingerbread man enough to use it for the base of my card front. The ribbon is by Oriental Trading Co, sentiment sticker by SRM Stickers and brad by The Paper Studio.

These fun button-like embellishments are from Michael's. I combined a few Martha Stewart patterned papers, with SRM Sticker sentiment and American Crafts ribbon to create my card. The punches are by EK Success and Creative Memories.

Last I used the very last embellishment in the pack for this card. The die cuts are all by Spellbinders. The patterned paper is by Scenic Routs (brown) and Making Memories (green). Ribbon is by Oriental Trading Co.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Welcome back to another week of Manly Monday. This blog post featured every Monday is dedicated to guy cards. We all have a tendency to struggle with guy cards and that's where this post will come in handy. Not only do I post my own manly card but I will supply links to other masculine cards that I find over the past week.

I think your really going to like this week's cards. Some amazingly talented people out there in blog land. Be sure to leave them some love and let them know you saw the link on Manly Monday.

For my card today I used some new to me embossing folders by Darice. Both the star and swirled backgrounds are embossed on chipboard, which I painted with acrylic paint by Making Memories after embossing them. After the red paint dried I lightly sanded the raised area and dusted some green paint on top so the swirls would stick out. The guitar stamp is by Stampibilities as is the Rock Star sentiment. The guitar is heat embossed with black embossing powder by Stamp N Plus and ink is Versa Mark. The circle sentiment is Lawn Fawn alphabet letters inked with Hero Arts ink. Rock Star is stamped in white craft ink by Stampin Up. The cardstock used in my card is by Recollections.

Mother's Day with powdered chalk

Happy Mother's Day to all of your saintly women that  someone calls mom. You have the hardest job in the world and may you reap the many rewards that your job can bring.

For my card today I used THIS flowers in a barrel stamp by Stamp N Plus, which I heat embossed with a goldish colored embossing powder. I then colored it in with a medium by combining powdered chalk and paint together. I just love the Stamp N Plus paint they have HERE. It gives my project an added sparkle.

I also used the chalk/paint mixture on the yellow colored die cut. So not only can you "color" with the chalk but you can use it as a background.

The sentiment stamps are also by Stamp N Plus but are not on the website. Below my card I have a picture of the stamp sheet you can order. I combined some of the words to create my sentiment. You will see the many possibilities this set can be used for. It would also be fun for scrapbooking. See below.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my creations. I love reading your comments.

By The Sea Card

This card is me wishing it was summer. Although I am enjoying this weather the word summer just brings a sense of carefree and fun to mind.

I made this card for the Stamp N Plus blog. The shell stamps can be found HERE. I used masking paper by Stampendous to get the images together in a row. The patterned papers are by K and Co and the ribbon by Offray. I stamped the sentiment on to the ribbon fr a something a little different. I used Hero Arts ink and I think it turned out quite well. I glued tiny beads all over the top of the card just for fun. Not sure if I like them but I went through a lot of trouble to get them there so no going back.

Thanks for looking. Have a great Saturday and weekend.

Moms that love sequins

I have lots of Mother's Day cards that I made to sell. Hopefully they are flying out the doors of the stores that I sell my cards at.

Sequins seem to be all the rage these days. I happen to love them and have a stash from my old dancing days. I had to buy these brown ones but did so with pleasure.

The sentiment stamp by Studio G is heat embossed with white embossing powder by Stampendous and Versa Mark ink. Then I inked the paper with distress inks and sprayed it with Perfect Pearls and water to get a water colors effect. I lined the back of the sentiment with sequins and adhered it to a piece of patterned paper by K and Co.

After adhering the patterned paper piece to my card base I added the Oriental Trading Co flowers. To make the center of the flower I used more sequins and small pearls by Want 2 Scrap in the centers. By the way Want 2 Scrap is having a 50% off sale right now thru Sunday, May 12th. Don't miss your chance to get some great bling to add to your crafting project at half the price.

So that's my card for today. Thanks for stopping by.

To my Mom card

A simple Mother's Day card for today. The patterned paper is by The Paper Studio. It had different squares and rectangle pieces that you could cut out and so I used a rectangle piece for the bottom of my card and the square piece for an embellishment.

The white background is stamp with a background stamp by Stampin Up in SU craft white ink. You can just barely see it in the photo which is kind of a fun whimsical look to it. The sentiment stamps are by Stamp N Plus and stamped with pink Colorbox ink. The ribbon and blue felt flower are from my stash but the white and pink paper flower is by Creative Memories with rhinestones by Imaginisce.

Thanks for looking.
