Star card

Afternoon all. I guess I am more of a afternoon post on my blog kind of gal unless I preset them. I made this card for Manly Monday and was shot down by the man in the house that anything with glitter on it is not manly. Whatever. It's blue and green and has stars on it. I thought that would be OK for a boy but apparently not. So here's my card and you be the judge:
The star stickers are by EK Success and oval sticker by Creative Memories. Star background stamp by Studio G, Star stamp that is an outline is by The Paper Studio and sentiment by Hero Arts. White craft ink by Stampin' Up, all green ink is by Memento and sentiment ink by Versa Mark with embossing powder clear (on background) and white by Stampendous. Patterned paper is an oldie by MME, green paper is unknown, pretty blue paper is by Core'dinations and white paper and card base are by Recollections. I used the Cricut by Provo Craft to cut out the scallop oval and a star, Marvy heat gun to heat emboss, Quickutz star die cut for one of the stars and Stampin' Up border punch.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Wee Memories (SAT#49)-Anything goes
Marks finest papers(SAT#48)-embossing with something on the card popped up (two stars have foam squares under them and the heat ambossing background and sentiment)
Gingerloft(SUN)-die cuts (QK star) or punches (border punch)
Let's Ink it Up(FR#14)-die cuts or punches (see above)
Corrosive Challenge(SUN#109)
There She goes(MON#100)-No markers
Squigglefly(M#91) Make your own patterned paper (background paper is embossed stamps)
Cards for men(M#7)-Embossing
Flourishes(Tu#111)-Use other stamps
The Paper Variety(W)-1-2-3 challenge (1-border punch, 2-star stickers and 3-words in my sentiment)
Stamp Royality(W#65)-Heat embossing
Creative Card Crew(W)-For a child
Cooking it Up with Katie(W#55)-Sparkle and shine (the blue paper is glittery)

Thanks for taking a look at my card. Come back tomorrow for a few owl cards that I made for some special people that are celebrating milestone birthdays.

Strawberry card

OK so a week ago I was featured or a card I made was featured at I Did It Creations Challenge blog and I didn't share it with you here. I made this card so long ago I might have already posted it but I am going to post it again. Image is by Robyn's Fetish and I colored it in with Copic markers.

Thanks for stopping by today. I will have something new posted for Wednesday.

I Did It Creations Challenge

This week at I Did It Creations the challenge is use pink and purple in your creation . We were sponsored by Stitchy Stamps and I chose this ticket that has a wonderful birthday sentiment on it. I used my Spellbinders small and large die cuts to create the background using paper from Pressed Petals and our local Dollar General. The sentiment was colored in using Copic markers and matted on black cardstock. The embellishment that I made is from Spellbinders dies and a Creative Memories punch. I added a little floss by Coats and Clarks to the holes of the die and tied it in a bow.

Thanks for stopping by. Please visit the other DT gals blogs for their project which you can get those blog addresses from HERE (on the right side bar) or HERE (the second team down). The I Did it Creations challenge blog  is only one part of a whole community of scrapping and cardmaking people, ideas and even shopping at discount prices. Check HERE for the links to this world that Robyn from Robyn's Fetish and Jeanette have created.

A lil' bit more

I posted this card recently and then made some improvements to it and wanted to share the results. I didn't just add flowers. I stamps those flowers with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed them and then using my finger put Perfect Pearls on top of that. I then used these centers from Websters that I just adore to finish the flower off. I think it really helped the card out. Thanks for stopping by today. May your day be better then mine:)

Christmas Cards all Year Round (Tick Tock)

Good evening. I wish I didn't need sleep. I would get so much more done. That being said I just woke up (ugh) and wanted to post this card I made for Christmas Cards all year Round. If you are not familiar with them please let me tell you about their challenge.

On the first of each month a challenge is announced. Then in order to be considered for the monthly prize you need to complete 5 cards throughout the month of March, blog 'em and then link 'em up to the CCAYR blog before March 31st. They can be five of the same cards if you want and if you choose to do that just take one picture of all five cards. You can also choose to do five different cards. For those you will need separate pictures and therefore a link for each card. Either way you do it, all the same or all different, they must follow the challenge requirements for that month.

For March the challenge was three patterned papers and three brads or eyelets. What's up with the threes? March is the third month of the year. Thank goodness we don't do this in November. lol.

***Sorry to interrupt this scheduled announcement but I have to tell you, there are only 12 people linked with cards on the CCAYR blog at this time. You definitely want to get in on this prize. It is pretty awesome! All you need to do 5 Christmas cards with the March challenge requirements to have a chance at this prize. (see below)

Our own design team member, Kat, is very generously offering the prize below for this month's winner! There are Stampin' Up Tiny Tags (clear mount stamps set) and a Northern Flurries Embossing Folder! Fabulous prize Kat! Thanks so much!

Great prize!! Don't miss your chance to win it. CCAYR Blog

Anyway, I started Christmas cards in December after my batch of cards were sent out. I figure if I make 10 a month I will be more than covered for the Christmas season. I've done about 8 each month but that's OK too. Because come November all the other challenge blogs want to see a Christmas card and that gives me motivation to finish up that last little bit that I need. I just cannot wait until November to start my cards. There's too much going on and then I feel rushed. This way I get a chance to really look through all my Christmas stuff enjoy the process of making the cards.
OK I'm going to quiet down now and show you my last card for this CCAYR March challenge and then another Christmas card I made this month.
The red ribbon is by Stampin' Up, green brads by Bo Bunny, star brad by Around the block, green patterned paper by Accord Publishing, red patterned paper by Provo Craft and the stripes unknown.

Holly paper is by The Paper Studio, green cardstock by Creative Memories, ribbon (the other side of the ribbon in the card above) and red cardstock by Stampin' Up, Digital image by Shannon's Sentiments, star brad by Around the Block, tree stamp by Clear Dollar Stamps, ink for that stamp Versa Mark and embossing powder by Stampendous. The diecuts are by Spellbinders, glitter white paper by DCWV, other ink for two of the ornaments by Memento and Stampin' Up. The ornament with the star I used an embossing marker by Marvy and then embossed it with Glitter embossing tinsel by Ranger Industries, embossing folder by Provo Craft and finally Copic markers black and grey were used.
I think this is the longest post I've written. I just hope there is some one out there reading it. Give me a hi in the comments if you did read this post. Thanks and God Bless.

Purple colored flower.digi stampl

I kept all of this post so I can look back on what it was I was, doing at this time in my life.
For the next couple of weeks Aly's Sunday challenge is being sponsored by Shannon's Sentiments for their spring challenge. Here is my card for the challenge:
I used the flower from Shannon's Sentiments Garden time set. The rhinestones (around the center of the flower and at both corners of the card) were put on by my new fun toy by Imaginisce, the I-Rock. I used ink pads and makeup sponges to color in the flower. Ink by Stampin' Up, Stamp It, Memento and Ranger. All of the other stamps are by SEI. That pretty green ink is by CTMH. I added a little distressing action on the sides and on the inside I called it an anniversary card to be sent out tomorrow. F

Manly Monday 40th Birthday

I worked on these invitations last week and they are now out in the mail and hopefully being received by people. It really didn't take me very long but I will say it reminded me of my factory working days. Glad those are done and over:) This was a lot more fun then inspecting the paint job on car parts but still one after another after another. blah. lol.
Here's my card/invitation with instructions to follow:

They are very similar but each one was done a bit different so I thought I would show you just two also because the color of grey was different depending on what I had available. My grey supply is no longer available. I have one 1/2 12x12 piece left. Time to go shopping and restock that. hehe. Anyway:

I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder Diamond plate that he liked and I really did buy it for boy/man cards. Every piece of grey paper I could find in my stash got cut into 3 3/4 inch wide by 5 1/4 inch tall and then embossed and inked them with Pumice Stone Ranger Distressing ink or Inkadinkado black ink or a combination of the two. I then took all the scraps of white paper I could find and used the 40th stamps from a Inkadinkado set and then spelled out Birthday Party using my favorite letter stamps in the world, Harold's Alphabet by Lawn Fawn. Put them on a block and started stamping with my Inkadinkado black ink and then used my blending tool by Ranger to ink the edges with the Pumice Stone. After that I cut the white paper to the size of the grey cardstock (some were different sizes because of the amount of grey cardstock that I had. I tried to get more cards out of what I had, which in turn made some of them smaller) I taped the white cardstock to the embossed grey.
Here comes the tedious part-I used the Indie Art cartridge by Cricut and cut out wrenches an bolts in sizes 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 inch and then glued them onto each card. My fingers were all glue by the end of that part. After I did that I didn't feel like the white cardstock was sticking to the grey very well (I used double sided tape-which can be hit or miss on embossed paper) so I went around with my Crop-o-dile and added eyelets and brads to secure the sentiment. This was a great way to use up those "I have one of this color left" pieces. Then I made the inside information on my computer and ran each card through the computer and then used Tesa tape to adhere the grey cardstock piece to the card base, which was 4 1/4 by 5 1/2.
Supply manufacturers: most brads and eyelets were by Making Memories, Some grey cardstock by DCWV and Pressed Petals, white cardstock mostly by Recollections, patterned paper for wrenches and bolts by Far and Away. I think that's it.

Best wishes for this happy Monday.

Duck Egg Digital stamp Happy Easter Card

This Sunday at I Did it Creations we are sponsored by Lexi's Creations and the theme is Spring. I chose this cute little Easter image for an Easter card for some lucky family member. I used my Copic markers to color it in and you can see a little improvement here and there on my coloring. I signed up for a Copic class in May and I am just jumping out of my skin in anticipation for that day to arrive. But on to my card for this challenge:

Supplies: Ribbon unknown the little eggs (yellow and pink) were fussy cut out of ribbon that I no longer have, patterned paper is by The Paper Studio and Creative Memories (yellow polka dot), cardstock by Provo Craft and Recollections, ink by (purple) Stamp it, (pink) by Ranger and (yellow) by Versa color, stamps by Close to my Heart and Maya Road.
Be sure to stop by the other DT members blogs and leave them some love on their wonderful cards. You can find their blog addy's HERE (scroll down to the second DT list) or HERE (they are listed on the right side, down a little bit).
We would love for you to join in our challenge and can do so at I Did It Creations blog. The I Did It Creations group is home of Robyn's Fetish images, The Outlaw Womens Scrapbook Emporium, then Crafting with OWSE and also the IDIC SNR Group. All of these links carry a variety of resources to which a scrapper, card maker or altered art maker can benefit from. If you have any questions about them please email me at grohcm@gmail.com with the subject line reading - IDIC ? Thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow with my husbands birthday invitations and come Tuesday I am going to show you a technique I used to make my nieces birthday party invitations.

Have an Egg-stra Special Easter

Welcome again to another Saturday challenge by Shannon's Sentiments. You saw our new release last week Saturday up to the blog hop on the 15th. This week our Guest Designer has chosen creative folds for our challenge.

There's a lot in this card. I may not cover it all but I'll give it a try. The card itself was cut using the Creative Memories oval die-cutting system. Leave a spot for the hinge and then overlap two to get the three panels. The cardstock in which the card is made is by Bazzill and sprayed with a combination of water and Perfect Pearls by Ranger. All the sentiments along with the basket and big egg are all digi's from Shannon's Sentiments. The long strip of paper in the middle is by Paper Salon and the ribbon on each side of the card was given to me as a gift from an online buddy. Basically, I'm saying it's unknown. The yellow paper is by Creative Memories, white cardstock is by Recollections.
On the first page the eggs in the basket are by Creative Memories, Karen Foster, and Me and My Big Ideas. The stamp used to make the basket looked weaved on the bottom is by Inkadinkado with ink by Versa Mark and embossing powder by Stampendous. I did use the blending tool by Ranger to make the basket appear brown over the embossing. The handle of the basket is stamped with Ranger Walnut stain and a Stampin' Up stamp (Canvas I think).
Page two the egg is stamped by Magical by Hero Arts using Versa Mark ink and Stampendous embossing powder then shaded with Close to my Heart Buttercup and Ranger Spun Sugar. The rick rack is unknown and part of the gems are by Imaginisce. I got their I Rock tool and was having fun playing with it. Green egg is by Close to my Heart with ink by Stampin' Up and flower by Sassafras.
Page three is the simplest of them all with just a few flower stickers from Sticko.
Any questions on this card or any of my work email me at grohcm@gmail.com. I can always duplicate a card for you to purchase.
Be sure to go check out the other DT blogs and creations to see what they have come up with for the creative folds challenge.

I edited this post on 3-26-2021 and removed links that are no longer valid.
Shannon's Sentiments is no longer in business.

You can find the links to their blogs at Shannon's Sentiments. Also if you are looking for some freebies visit her shop at this LINK. The coffee cup digi is very popular.

Home Sweet Home

Another Paper Crafts Go-To sketches reject. Whatever. lol. The red paper is unknown, off white is K & Co, polka dot is by Making Memories, diecut inside the polka dots is by Cosmo Cricket, embellishments by American Crafts. I think this would be a good card for someone that has moved or recently bought a house. I really just liked the way all the different companies colors worked so well together. Sometimes I spend hours trying to match things up and this one just came together so quickly. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my creations. Tomorrow will be a new challenge for Shannon's Sentiments, Sunday will be a new challenge for I Did It Creations and Monday will be my husbands birthday invitations. He is turning 40 this year and so a big party will be at my house. Oh the joy (sarcasm) lol. I got to do the invites how I wanted to with his input, which was nice and they turned out nice for a dudes party. Happy Friday and have a good weekend.

I Did it Creations Challenge Happy Easter

Sunday's IDIC challenge is brought to us by Robyn's Fetish and wow does she have some great new images in her store. Be sure to check them out. The challenge this week at IDIC is masking. I did a tutorial on masking digital images on Thursday for those of you that are unsure how to do the technique. I am not sure how other people do this technique without the Inkadinkado masking paper because I feel like it was sent from heaven and I can't imagine not having it. I did make a mistake while doing the tutorial and it ended up as a fun little twist to the whole thing. Be sure to check out the link

HERE from my blog or HERE from the IDIC blog

So since I used my card for the technique demonstration I needed to make another to be part of the of the DT group. I picked an easy image, one of Robyn's new ones, and then made the mask out of the Inkadinkado paper and place it over the image. I used some swirls by Fiskars in a light pink by Close to my heart as the back ground. After I was happy with the background results, I removed the masking sticker and "ta-da" I had a beautiful masked image. I really enjoy this technique and have other things to show you in regard to it. However, I am fighting to stay a wake right now so it will have to be some other time.

Here is my card using SEI yellow paper as my base with the purple outside paper by a paper pack from Dollar General and the darker purple from Creative Memories. It is very hard to see but there is a small stamped image by Fiskars at the top and bottom of the card. The scallop square dies are by Spellbinders, sentiment sticker by Mrs Grossmans, the image is colored in by the novice Copic user me and the white paper is by The Paper Co.

I hope you enjoy my card today I and am glad you took the time to visit my blog. Be sure to check out the other DT members blogs to see their amazing work.  You can find a link to their blogs on the home page at IDIC...Please bare with me on any grammar issues in this post. I am beat and am trying like crazy to get this posted

Masking Technique with a twist

I made this tutorial on masking a digital image for I Did it Creations. Here are the pictures step by step as to how I did it and here is the link to the Picasa web album. The album gives an explanation of each photo and a few extra photos as well. If you share this tutorial please give the credit to me Cindy Groh. I worked very hard on this and would be hurt if someone took credit for that hard work. Thank you. If you make something using this tutorial leave me a link in the comments. I would love to see another view or take on it. Have a great day.

Here's the twist. I have a mask for the front of the image and the back of the image. The back mask allows me to score the lines into the cardstock up to the lines of the image. The scored lines are made on the back of the cardstock with the image on it and when flipped over looks like panelling on the front. I hope that makes sense.
Here is my finished card/project with this tutorial. I used patterned paper by Stampin' Up and K & Co, twine by Darice, brads by Oriental Trading Co, ink by Colorbox, label by American Crafts (i think) and letter stickers by K & Company. I hope this will inspire you to make a project with a mask on the front and back and see what creative project you can come up with. Post a link of your project in the comments so I can see it. That would totally make my day. Best wishes to all:)
