Kindness Campaign Card Drive Card #2 Brighten your day Card

My card today uses a beautiful Deep Red Stamp called

I stamped this row with distress ink on Forever in Tim cream cardstock. I border punched the edge with a Fiskars punch. I did the same punch on green patterned paper by Studio G, which I think is a by company of Hampton Arts. I don't understand why companies do that where they come out with products under a different name. Smh.

The orangish patterned paper is by Basic Grey and the green background paper has been dry embossed with large circles. I believe that paper may have come off a store bought card. Please Recycle! The giant rhinestone is by Glitz and the sentiment sticker by K and Co.

This card is for the the Kindness Campaign Card Drive. Check it out and consider donating a card or two.

Manly Monday Chalk Marker Card

Hey, Hey, I have a Manly Monday card today.

The black background for the hexagons is a piece of cereal box board that a painted with Plaid chalkboard paint. I had cut out a bunch of hexagons out using my Cricut and had this negative leftover that I thought was perfect as a stencil. I outlined each hex before coloring in the shape with the blue chalk marker. Super cute and perfectly imperfect. The blue paper is by Sunborn, black and white cardstock by Recollections and sentiment die by Lawn Fawn.

Sweet card

I made this ATC with a Deep Red Stamps background stamp called

I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder and covered it with Ranger Spun Sugar distress stain. It turned out pretty. The rest of the stuff I'm not sure. Most of it was laying on my table and just seemed to fit with this background.

Napkin Technique

This technique is interesting but in my opinion it's very messy. I couldn't get the glitter stick as well or as easily as the video made it look. The red edges on the left side of each card are different border punches which are by Stampin Up and EK Success.

The die cuts are all by Spellbinders. I liked how I'm able to use the really small Spellbinders die cuts for ATC's. I never know what else to use those small dies for. The two snowflakes and green sentiments are rub-ons by American Crafts. The upper right sentiment are Fastanator staples.

Cricut Love struck

Here are 2 more of the free Valentine cards from Cricut. I cut them out of peach cardstock by Bazzill. I adhered red cardstock to the bottom where the words are and white cardstock to the inside to cover the inside panel.

The second one I inked white cardstock with distress ink before adhering it to the inside.

Cricut Heart Card

I made this card using the Cricut freebie Valentine card. There were a few of them that I will be posting soon. I cut the base out of red cardstock. Then I inked a white piece of cardstock with different colors of distress ink. I taped it to the inside and wa-la the card is done.

Flower Basket Birthday Card

Today's card is a remodel. It was a Mother's Day card that I converted into a birthday card. It had this huge pearl brad in it that would never go through the machine at the post office. HERE is the original card where you can see a products list.

Here's what I did to revamp it. The Mother's Day label was not coming off without taking the green cardstock with it. I really wasn't that interested in tearing the whole card down more just change those few elements. So I covered up the the longer Elle's label with a smaller one from the same pack (Is it sad that I still have the same pack of labels that I did from 2013?) I layered the die cut "happy" by Clearly Besotted over the two labels in brown. As I look at the card, I'm not really impressed with the color of the sentiment but it's done and I'm sure no one in my family will say anything.

For the inside of the card, I used a brown label from the same pack of labels. The sentiment is by Stamping Scrapping in brown Stampin Up ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Love card

I'm not sure how I missed posting this one for earlier but I did. The red cardstock has been stamped with hearts and heart outlines as well as some flourishes with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed. The hearts were embossed with Ranger's red embossing powder and the flourishes with an off white. The off white has specks in it. I inked the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink.

The word "Love" is a sticker by Pebbles that I placed on a Spellbinders die cut and then onto a scrap of black cardstock. I wrapped some lace around the left side of the card front panel and secured it down with a Creative Imaginations brad. Then I added it to a 5 x 6 1/2 pre-made card base.

Manly Monday Best Wishes

My card today features a couple of star dies that I bought off eBay. They have a stitched edge and cut beautifully.
This one I was able to stamp a star by Kitchen Sink Stamps in the center with blue ink. I layered the two dies together before adding them to a piece of white cardstock that has been dry embossed with a Tim Holtz folder. I ripped the edge of the white cardstock and adhered it to a card base is by Creativity Inc. I stamped the sentiment by Fiskars onto a scrap of blue paper and added a Lawn Fawn star die next to it. Happy Birthday card

I made a birthday card ATC to send with my monthly swap ladies. I was amazed at the cards I received when it was my birthday month and want to be sure send love back to others.

The pattern paper is by Recollections, the jute is by Tim Holtz and the happy birthday stamp are by Stampendous. The flower is a download from the Internet that you cut out and then roll into this dimensional flower. I stamped it first with flower stamps by SEI and inked the edges with distress ink before I rolled it up into the flower you see. It takes a little (a ton) of practice to get it to look good but if you apply Stickles to the edges to make it sparkle you can cover up imperfections. Add a brown brad in the center

Butterfly Birthday

I made this card when I was selling them at a store and it was for a granddaughter.  Well since I will never have one I changed it into a birthday card, which I'm always in need of. The butterflies patterned paper is by K and Co. and the vine and leaves on the side are a Cricut cut from Art Philosophy. There is a brown piece of cardstock at the bottom to hold down the lace . I folded the lace on top of each other like a pleat and secured it down with Modge Podge and a foam brush. The foam brush had blue-ish ink remnants on it which is what I get for not cleaning my brushes when I'm finished. The sentiment is by Fiskars.

Sketches in Thyme Project Life Feb

I have a new Sketches In Thyme Project Life/Pocket page to share. A thought came to me when I joined a few PL groups on FB that what I am doing is not really considered  "Project Life". Oh well. I found this system to be the easiest way for me to put these photos in albums.

Here's my page for today. I really liked the sketch of the card, which you can see below and is the middle row right side card. I like that it's crooked and suppose to be that way.

Then I had some fun using the Small Talk and frames Cricut cartridge for the center card. I added some arrows and circles to spice it up the pictures. The large number stamps are by Stampin Up and the S by Lawn Fawn.

Ready, Set, Snow ATC's

I combined Faber Cassell blue gelatos with white paint and silver Metallic Rub by Viva. I took a paint brush and smeared the mixture onto white packaging I had around the house.
Then I stamped and heat embossed snowflakes by Lawn Fawn randomly in the sky.
I stamped some other small circles from the same set with Charcoal ink by Hero Arts.

On the bottom row of ATC's, I combined of white paint by Ranger with Perfect Pearls and painted it onto white cardstock. I tore the edge of the white paper and smeared Versa Mark ink on that torn edge. I heat embossed with white glitter powder by Stampendous.

For the top row of ATC's, I kept the white cardstock white. I added Liquid pearls to the torn edge and sprinkled SU white glitter on top.

The sentiment is Lawn Fawn and the silver snowflake is a package of confetti from Dollar Tree.

Destiny ATC

I made this ATC for a swap and the theme was to use a stencil. I decided to use a Dreamweaver Stencil by Stampendous. I applied glossy white embossing paste to the stencil onto watercolor cardstock. After it dried, I inked it with distress ink and applied Perfect Pearls to the edges. I used the negative of a sheet of star die cuts to create the background by inking with the purple distress ink. I stamped the cluster of stars, stamp by Simon Says Stamp, with Hero Arts and Stampin Up inks. I inked the edges of the ATC before stamping the sentiment stamp with black Hero Arts ink.

Lawn Fawn Cats and Dogs Cards

Two cards today using Lawn Fawn stamps. The dog, bird, cat and butterfly were all stamped onto Ranger's watercolor paper and then die cut out with the matching dies. I used Peerless watercolors to color them in. I made the dog sentiment with the Harold ABC's onto a Spellbinders die. I inked the white card base with blue distress ink to create the sky. I made the hills with some left over patterned paper by Recollections and cardstock by Stampin Up.

I have a calendar layout to share today. Every year I make calendars for the family and one for the cottage. The one for the cottage is only allowed to have cottage pictures. The snowflake background is a Cricut cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge. I made it very large to fit the page. The blue background paper by Sunborn. Beer mug stamp, brown ink and speckled cardstock by SU with the letter stamps by Lawn Fawn and black Hero Arts ink. I bought the tags at Walmart and they are by Forever in Time.

Gold Cross Card

I stamped the cross by Recollections with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with a matte gold powder. I used a Sizzix die to cut it out. The background paper is by DCWV and I applied gold Perfect Pearls to it. I like things to sparkle. The bottom is a wallpaper sample that I dry embossed. I covered the seam of the two papers with a Mrs. Grossman's border stick and added the medallion sticker by CM to the right.

Pocket Scrapbooking '69 and '70

Today I have some simple pocket scrapbooking to share. These are a part of the project I'm doing for my husband's family books. These are so simple compared to what I've seen online but I have so many pictures and years to do that I can't spend a ton of time on each layout. Besides, I think I've mentioned this before that I'm making these for boys/men and they don't care about all the frills. They look at the pictures and that's about it.

I used patterned paper by Recollections and Sunborn to mat each picture. The size of the pocket is 4x4 and the picture is 3 3/4 x 3 3/4. If I didn't mat them onto the paper the picture would fall out. I did cut the titles out with Cricut's Cuttin' Up cartridge and added a few stickers. Some of the die cuts are by Studio G and the stamping under the pictures is done with Lawn Fawn Harold ABC's.

Birthday ATC's

I created the background for these ATC's using a Tim Holtz clock stencil. I inked them with a dark purple and then went in and added the blue, yellow and green, which are all distress inks. The cake stamp by SU was stamped in purple and I added gold Smooches ink to the flame of the candles.

The word "Birthday" is a Maya Road stamp stamped with black Hero Arts ink and the word "Time" is part of ribbon by Queen and Co. The clock is from a piece of decorative tape that reminds me of athletic tape. I used the Ranger stapler to create the hands of the clock. The purple ribbon was white and I dyed it with either distress ink, SU ink or Sta-On ink. I didn't have this color purple ribbon so I made my own.

I stamped the Tim Holtz boat stamp with Hero Arts black ink on top and then used acetate to create the bottom. I inked the blue and green with distress ink and an ink blending tool. The patterned paper is by DCWV.

Deep Red Peach card

I stamped the the plaid background stamp by Deep Red Stamps with Hero Arts ink onto white cardstock. I matted black cardstock behind it and adhered both pieces to a scrap of patterned paper. I cut the borders out with the Cricut and the Ribbons and Rosettes cartridge. For the flower, I adhered one to the base and layered on top of it two folded in half flowers. I covered the seam with the heart punch by Creative Memories.

Join Us in Paris ATC

These ATC's were a swap to use our favorite product and mine at the time were borders. These borders were cut out with the Cricut and the Ribbons and Rosettes cartridge. There are two that have Spellbinders borders below the light purple border. The background paper is by SU and DCWV. The image is made up of two Stampendous stamps. The Eiffel Tower and then a small background in the same set. Then I inked them with Milled Lavender distress ink to match the paper. The sentiment is by Lawn Fawn.

Season's Greetings

I have a card today using some small ornament stamps that have been stamped, colored and Stickled from the lady I got all the Christmas stamps from. I punched each one out with the mosaic punch by Stampin Up to make a banner. I sewed DMC floss at the top of the green patterned paper by Creative Memories and then matted it onto reddish/burgundy cardstock.

The patterned paper is by Making Memories, which looking back at my posts I see that I've used this paper a lot this season. It is adhered to a 5x6.5 off white card base by Recollections. The sentiment stamp and black ink are by Hero Arts on green Creative Memories green cardstock. I used a Sizzix die to cut it out and inked the inside with distress ink before adhering it to the card.

Valentine ATC's

I made these ATC's for a Valentine's Day swap. The heart stencil and white glossy embossing paste are by Dreamweaver Stencils. I made the hearts on watercolor paper and after they dried I ran them through a pool of distress inks and water. I cut them down and inked the edges with Walnut distress ink before adhering each heart to its own digital tag that I had printed and cut out.

The background is the Brick Wall Background Stamp by Deep Red Stamp stamped with brown ink by SU. I applied different colors of distress ink around the background to pull out the colors in the hearts. I wrapped lace around the base a few times before securing it with a brad. I cut the sentiments out from old greeting cards and adhered them to the upper left side.

And then I thought I was done. But I went to join these cards to the other sets I had made and they were smaller. Ugh! Are you kidding me? I sat on it for a day mostly because I was mad at myself. But then as I was into my brown scrap folder and this The Paper Studio glitter paper jumped out and said "Use Me!" I did so and loved it. It was the perfect end to these ATC's.

I hope you like them. Thanks for stopping by.

Santa Claus cards

I have some Santa Claus Christmas cards to share. The Santa stamp is by------. I stamped it with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with red embossing powder by Ranger. The off white paper the Santa is on happens to be the back piece of paper of a stack of checks. Upcycling is the best.

The patterned paper is by Bazzill, the ribbon by Making Memories and the glitter cardstock behind the image is by Recollections.

So the picture below shows the first Santa card I made which includes a piece of gold diagonal stripes behind the image. I just didn't like it. I thought it was too busy or maybe I could say it better as, I didn't think the card needed the extra paper. The Santa face is so interesting to look at. Without the gold paper the focus is on the face where it should be.
